About
The Sarabande Musical Markup Language is a markup language for writing and storing musical notation using any text editor. By just using a set of syntax, any kind of music, not only the genres, but the notation systems too, western, traditional, gregorian and other can be stored in to a file with the ablility to set a different types of tuning. It is very versatile, with a bunch parameters to be customized, such as transposition, dynamics, fine tuning, voices, et cetera.
The ablility to store the file in to a smaller—binary form is also available through the Sarabande Compiler. The compiled file can be played later with the Sarabande Interpreter.
Manual
The manual for each version of Sarabande can be found at the downloaded zip file, under the name "manual.md". It is best to open the manual file with a markdown viewer.
But in general, the main program file is the "sarabande.exe". You must use a command prompt to be able to open this program. On Windows, you simply unzip the file and run a Command Prompt inside the folder containing "sarabande.exe". Then type "sarabande -a", which will display the program related information.
To try the demo file, just type "sarabande music\Demo\passacaglia.srbd", which will imediately play G. F. Haendel's Passacaglia.
Download
Currently, Sarabande only available for Windows 64 bit, but there is the source code for anyone who want to build the program manually.
